Meet Michelle Waters, DNP, APRN FNP-C
Michelle Waters is a Clinical Services Manager at PopHealthCare where she oversees a team of nurse practitioners and registered nurses who deliver CareSight to members in North Florida. We caught up with Michelle to learn more about her role and what she loves about providing individualized care to patients in their homes.
What compelled you to work at Pop HealthCare?
My choice to come to Pop HealthCare was centered around the opportunity to provide an intimate level of care to members. Through CareSight, my team of clinicians comes to a member’s home to positively impact their health and well-being. We get to spend quality time with a member to explain their doctors’ instructions, improve the care they currently receive, and answer all their questions.
What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love the one-on-one interaction I get with members and the relationships I have been able to forge with them. I’m energized by the individualized care my team and I provide. I know that my patients feel cared about and trust me when they call me with follow-up questions after leaving their primary care doctor or specialist.
What do you want members to know about CareSight?
CareSight clinicians are passionate and dedicated to helping you improve your health. Unlike at a clinic or office visit where you may only get 5-7 minutes with your provider, I can spend an hour giving you my undivided attention. I find that people are more relaxed asking questions and sharing health information with me in the comfort of their own homes. Give us a try!
How does CareSight work with a member’s physician?
Through our collaborative model, we help physicians manage the day-to-day care of their patients. The education we provide patients in their homes allows them to have deeper conversations about their care plans and a more focused visit with their physician. We always give physicians a summary of our visits whether they are scheduled or unplanned.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I like to shop! I have 6 children and 1 grand baby, so I’m always buying kids clothes. My house is loud and full of love, so we often take the chaos outside for a kickball game in the backyard.
